Kidepo Savannah Lodge is literally on a stone’s throw from the park. It offers unparalled vistas of the expansive Narus Valley, Mount Morungole and the distant mountain ranges which form the border with Southern Sudan. The lodge is inspired by the Savannah surroundings, the grasslands, rocky outcrops, and by the Karamojong, the tribe with their typical manyatta.
You can see Savannah elephants, African buffalo’s, oribi and Defassa water bucks very often. At dusk, night and early morning you have the chance to see striped jackals and you can hear lions roar and spotted hyenas ‘laugh’.
Of course, there are also various bird species like foxtail ravines and various songbirds. If you listen well, you can hear the African dwarf eagle at night.
Kidepo Savanna Lodge has 8 ‘lazy camping’ tents. Your fully-equipped safari tent, including bed and bath linen, has a heat resistant shelter to protect you from the heat of the sun. The tents are equipped with mosquito nets as well. The shared sanitary area of the campsite is located near the tents and consists of separate toilets and showers.
All ‘lazy camping’ tents are located on the edge of the Kawalokol hill overlooking the Narus Valley and have a seat outside of the tent.
